Title: Windows Systems Engineer

Location: Washington, DC

Duration: 1+ year


Primary Skills: Active Directory and Citrix

Required skills:

 Working knowledge of Windows 2008/2012 Active Directory and Group Policies

• Experience in Windows Power Shell scripting

• Experience in administering remote access solutions such as Citrix Xen, VDI and VPNs 

• Experienced in Windows Server infrastructure platform 2003/2008/2012 and its related components such as WINS, DNS, HCP, Print Server as far as installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and design.

• Experience working with patch management and software deployment software such as SCCM, SCOM, WSUS. 

• Proficient in SAN storage specifically with NetApp filers: installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Creating volumes/LUN/NFS/Shares

• Experience with HP 3000 series enclosures, HP blade systems and Dell Rack servers.

• Experience with VMware ESXi and XenServer installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and design.

• Very strong knowledge and understanding of Windows Server Administration, MS Active Directory (AD) design and architecture to include LAN and server Enclosure Networking.  

• Very strong knowledge and experience of MS infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, and Remote Access

• Very strong knowledge and experience with Group Policies and Scripting

• Working knowledge and experience on supporting MS Messaging services and applications (For example, Cloud e-mail and failover messaging capability)

• Ability to implement and configure systems needed to support an enterprise AD infrastructure

• Active Directory experience in large end-user environment, to include an understanding of multiple AD functions

• Ability to work with other functional teams and facilitate activities from a systems and integration perspective

• Strong knowledge and understanding of Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network-Attached Storage technology

• Ability to administer and implement engineering and configuration changes of Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network-Attached Storage (NAS) devices

• Experience in installation and configuration of Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network -Attached Storage (NAS) devices with multiple vendors. For instances, NetApp, EMC, and HP

• Ability to create as-built system engineering documentation and operations process and procedures
