The ideal candidate will be skilled in both product development and analytical environments—capable of supporting engineers building REST services as well as data scientists and engineers developing pipelines and dashboards for our SaaS product line.

Most importantly, you’re passionate about clean energy and eager to help utilities, market aggregators, and building operators gain actionable insights from large volumes of meter and environmental data.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain infrastructure automation in Google Cloud.
  • Design and manage deployment pipelines that enable zero-downtime releases, automated rollbacks, and infrastructure validation.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to build resilient data processing systems for ETL, ELT, data warehousing, and real-time analytics.
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting to ensure availability for internal analytics stakeholders, utilities, aggregators, and market implementers.
  • Ensure cloud architectures meet security and compliance standards for public and private utilities.
  • Contribute to Python-based APIs that connect infrastructure to customer applications.
  • Support deployment and integration of customer-facing features.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in data, software, or cloud engineering.
  • Deep expertise with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform strongly preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with analytics infrastructure (BigQuery, Spark, Snowflake, or similar platforms).
  • Familiarity with OLTP databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
  • Strong CI/CD pipeline development skills (GitHub Actions preferred).
  • Experience with IAM, VPC, and cloud-native networking/security.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure and application performance monitoring tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Domain knowledge in utilities, meter data, or energy efficiency.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python.
  • Experience supporting multitenant SaaS architectures.
  • BigQuery performance and cost optimization at terabyte scale, including cost governance and efficient data storage strategies.
  • Experience with Cloud Run, GKE, or Compute Engine for application hosting.
  • Proven track record of managing cloud costs and optimizing resource utilization.
This is a Remote (work from home) position.
