TheΒ Network Engineer is a focused role requiring switching, routing, wireless, and firewall skills. The role will support our customers globally, serving as a technical member for the network group and will be responsible for the implementation, qualification, security, support and operation of LAN and WAN solutions.Β 

One of the initial projects that this person will support is the implementation of structured cabling, AP installation and providing support for L3 network engineers who will configure the APs. The role will involve some travel within US and Canada to undertake surveys and complete quality checks on installations.

  • Manage multiple simultaneous network refresh projects consisting of the installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrading of various network components (switches, firewalls, access points, etc.)
  • Design, test and implement new wireless deployments using a variety of industry leading tools such as Ekahau AI Pro, AirMagnet, Wireshark, etc. Β (Training can be provided if required)
  • Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution
  • Assist internal and external customers with troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues, providing root cause analysis and closing problem tickets promptly
  • Comprehensive understanding of the OSI model and various networking architecture such as routing/switching, IP, TCP/UDP, and application layers such as HTTP, SMTP, etc.
  • Relevant industry certification such as Cisco CCNA, CWNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of wireless networking technologies and protocols (802.11)
  • Experience with wireless analysis tools such as Ekahau AI Pro, AirMagnet, Wireshark etc.
  • Customer oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems, recommend solutions, and take independent action
  • Β Flexibility to travel (infrequent ~20%) and to work non-standard hours from time to time
