Location: Amsterdam (hybrid – approx. 50% in office, 50% remote)

About the role

Are you an experienced Java DevOps Engineer with a passion for building and operating robust systems? In this role, you’ll join a multidisciplinary, international Agile team that takes ownership of the full development lifecycle: from refining user stories to monitoring production software.

You’ll work with modern technologies, actively contribute ideas for improvements, and help deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. At the same time, you’ll share your expertise and coach less experienced team members.

What you will do

  • Develop, maintain, and operate Java applications in a DevOps environment

  • Work with Kafka, Spring Boot, SQL, and monitoring tools like ELK and Grafana

  • Apply BDD and DDD principles to solution design

  • Design reusable code components and libraries for multiple projects

  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents

  • Participate in the on-call rotation (about 1 week every 1–2 months)

  • Foster a learning mindset and coach junior team members

What you bring

Must-have experience:

  • Java 11+ and Spring Boot (APIs)

  • Kafka

  • SQL

  • Monitoring (ELK, Grafana)

  • Strong knowledge of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Domain Driven Design (DDD)

Nice-to-have experience:

  • Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines

  • Kubernetes or OpenShift

  • Scala and Akka Streams

  • Databases such as Neo4J, Cassandra, Elasticsearch

  • Master Data Management
