The Role


As an IT Support Engineer, you are responsible for providing hands-on support to all departments of an organization. You will work closely with the senior members of the IT team to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and security of the company's systems and networks. This position offers an opportunity to gain practical experience and build a strong foundation in Systems Administration.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and operating systems
  • Assess, prioritize, and monitor support tickets, escalating incidents to the relevant support teams if issues cannot be resolved independently.
  • Manage and troubleshoot: Azure AD, Outlook, Outreach, Slack, Salesforce, Papercut, Adobe, DocuSign, Datto RMM, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365
  • Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft 365 services, including Azure AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business
  • Stay current with M365 updates, security threats, and new features, recommending and implementing improvements
  • IT Audio/Visual Services: Work closely with the IT Manager to provide Audio/Visual services, i.e., set up, operate, and support Audio/Visual equipment and solutions and services for internal and external meetings and events.

Endpoint Management and Vulnerability Management

 

  • Conduct IT asset management and software audits, ensuring licensing compliance.
  • Perform routine system maintenance tasks such updates and backups
  • Ensure all system and security patches provided by OEMs and software vendors are deployed utilizing desktop management and software update systems/tools
  • Monitor patch releases and provide resolution for vulnerabilities on client devices
  • Ensure endpoint devices are fully patched, and antivirus software is current
  • Perform regular security vulnerability scans and monitoring

Network Administration:

 

  • Support the maintenance and administration of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Collaborates with network administrators to implement network upgrades and improvements
  • Monitor network performance, identify potential security vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate measures to safeguard the network.

 

Security and Data Protection:

  •  Assist in implementing and enforcing security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access.
  •  Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT security policies and procedures.
  •  Conduct periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.

Requirements


Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 3-5 years of experience preferred.
  • Certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Associate) are a plus

Skills/Abilities

  • Solid understanding of computer systems, networks, and operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux).
  •  Familiarity with hardware components, such as servers, switches, and routers.
  •  Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce) is a plus.
  •  Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
  • Experience with Azure AD, hybrid identity management, and zero-trust principles
  • Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and stay updated with industry trends
