The Role

This role will be responsible for delivering first-class technical support to the business.  Working closely with the support and infrastructure team, alongside the existing IT support engineer, working on a broad range of applications, devices, and networking components, ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of moderately complex systems. Due to the nature of the role which supports predominantly office-based stakeholders, and the benefit of on-the-job learning and mentoring, this will be an office-based position.

 

Responsibilities

×        Provide first-line and second-line IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues.

×       Respond to helpdesk tickets promptly, diagnosing and ensuring effective problem resolution, escalating where necessary and providing excellent customer service.

×        Assist in the setup and maintenance of meeting rooms, AV equipment, and teleconferencing solutions.

×        Maintain and support Microsoft operating systems, Office365, and enterprise applications.

×        Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies in Active Directory and Entra ID.

×        Support mobile device management through Intune, Company Portal, and Microsoft Authenticator.

×        Configure and maintain printers and other peripherals.

×        Perform routine maintenance and support for PC hardware and software.

×        Collaborate with the infrastructure team on system improvements and updates.

×        Ensure IT documentation is kept up to date for all processes and troubleshooting steps.

×        Project work as required, i.e. desktop computers configuration.

×        Providing meeting room support when required.

 

Professional Experience

×        Minimum two years’ experience working in an IT support and customer service-focused environment.

×        Professional manner with excellent communication skills and telephone etiquette; able to interact with all levels of seniority within the firm.

×        Strong problem-solving skills and persistence in resolving technical issues.

×        Attention to detail, logical thinking, and a proactive attitude.

×        Highly organised, with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks under pressure.

×        Proven track record as an effective team member.

×        Experience in a smaller corporate setting within financial services, legal, or insurance industries (less than 500 employees)

 

Technical Experience

Essential:

×        Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 10, 11).

×        Office365 application suite administration.

×        Active Directory / Entra ID Administration.

×        Desktop/User automation using Group Policy and/or SCCM.

×        Configuration and support for Intune, Company Portal, and Microsoft Authenticator.

×        Exchange Online and Exchange Server administration.

×        Printer configuration and maintenance.

×        PC hardware maintenance and troubleshooting.

Desirable:

×        Market Data platforms (Bloomberg, Eikon, FactSet).

×        Exposure to Citrix environments.

×        Understanding of network fundamentals (Cisco). 

×        Familiarity with Mitel telephone systems.
