We are looking for a Technical Facilities Manager to oversee the operational delivery of Hard FM services across a national customer contract.

You will ensure that client assets are safe, compliant, and fully operational, aligning with both contractual obligations and Atlas’ high service standards.

This is a site-based role in London, with occasional travel and overnight stays as required.

You will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across all Hard FM products, whether self-delivered or managed through a supply chain. Additionally, you will be the first point of escalation for customer service issues and will manage day-to-day operational relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety / Compliance

  • Ensure the client estate remains safe, compliant, and aligned with statutory regulations.
  • Conduct Records Audits and Site Safety Inspections, working alongside Technical and Compliance Managers.
  • Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) from subcontractors to ensure alignment with legislation and Atlas Workplace Services (AWSL) values.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and other quality assurance systems.
  • Act as the arbiter in case of safety disputes and ensure all incidents, accidents, and near misses are reported per company policy.
  • Ensure all contractors (both Atlas and client-side) are properly inducted, issue and manage permits to work, and ensure work is conducted safely.

Operational Management

  • Align the annual maintenance programme with the contractual specification while minimising disruption to the client's core business.
  • Ensure operational delivery considers sustainability, value for money, and service quality.
  • Oversee reactive and planned maintenance across all FM services, ensuring a compliant and fully operational facility.
  • Work closely with the Account Manager, Performance Manager, and specialist departments to deliver an integrated FM service.
  • Support budget management by providing accurate financial data and ensuring all commissioned works are properly authorised and paid.
  • Provide technical support to the wider account team when required.

Commercial & Finance

  • Fully understand the contract and service specification to ensure compliance.
  • Work with the Account Manager and Performance Manager to monitor SLAs and KPIs.
  • Assist the Commercial Manager in identifying efficiencies and value-for-money improvements for the customer.
  • Support the Commercial Assistant in producing accurate quotations that reflect the full scope of work.

Customer Management & Governance

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer issues, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Encourage feedback to identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain transparent and effective communication with customer stakeholders and the core client team.
  • Ensure all governance requirements are met in line with contract expectations.
  • Promote a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to expand business services and collaborate with the Commercial and Business Development teams to secure new contracts.
  • Travel to customer sites (mainly in the Northern Region, but some national travel required) to build relationships and oversee service delivery.

Resource & Supplier Management

  • Analyse scheduled facilities services to ensure optimal efficiency, recommending improvements where necessary.
  • Ensure value for money by evaluating alternative solutions and approving works in line with Atlas’ quality and environmental policies.
  • Develop environmental initiatives in line with Atlas’ sustainability strategy.
  • Oversee supplier performance, ensuring focus on safety, service delivery, business continuity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide accurate performance feedback for preferred suppliers.
  • Maintain detailed records of service delivery, including meeting minutes, action plans, and written notes.

Reporting & Quality Assurance

  • Provide service delivery reports in line with the compliance framework.
  • Ensure all contractual governance requirements are met.
  • Maintain quality assurance by ensuring compliance with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) and conducting regular audits and checks.
