Primary Responsibilities:
 
  1. Network Design and Deployment:
    • Architect and implement functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN) across multiple data centers and corporate sites.
    • Configure and install network devices such as switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and load balancers.
    • Develop and deploy high-availability network solutions tailored to business requirements.
    • Integrate technologies like VxLAN with MPLS networks.
  2. Network Performance and Management:
    • Monitor network performance to ensure system availability and reliability.
    • Analyze and troubleshoot cloud and local infrastructure, addressing escalated issues from support tiers.
    • Utilize expertise in BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, QoS, IPSEC, DNS, and related protocols to maintain network integrity and performance.
    • Implement DDoS mitigation strategies and other edge network security measures.
  3. Automation and Innovation:
    • Deploy and manage automation solutions using tools like Ansible for network tasks and monitoring.
    • Propose and implement improvements in network performance, capacity, and scalability.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive and accurate technical documentation for network configurations and processes.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and users, providing updates and support as needed.
    • Write internal benchmark performance tests, feature definition documents, and technical collateral.
  5. Security and Compliance:
    • Develop, oversee, and test security measures to protect access and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
    • Ensure compliance with network security standards, including MACsec/NAC, SSLVPN, and edge security protocols.
  6. Collaboration and Integration:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Project Managers, Sales Engineers, and implementation teams to deliver robust network solutions.
    • Work on integrations involving Cisco, Palo Alto, Azure, and other platforms to support business operations.


Qualifications:

  • At least 15 years of experience in large-scale network design, implementation, and management.
  • Proficiency in core networking protocols: BGP (with BFD), OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, RSVP, VxLAN, BGP EVPN, QoS.
  • Strong understanding of IPSEC, DNS, SSLVPN, MACsec/NAC, CDN, and load balancing.
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible) for network tasks.
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead network engineering teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with DDoS mitigation and advanced edge network security.
  • Familiarity with managed service offerings on MPLS networks.
  • Hands-on experience with data center migrations and network architecture planning.
  • Technical writing skills for creating performance documentation, feature definitions, and reference architecture notes.
