Senior Systems Engineer SME – Space Systems Acquisition and Engineering
Location:  On-site in Washington D.C.
Clearance Required: TS/SCI

Position Overview:
OMNI Consulting Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide advisory and assistance services (A&AS) in systems engineering and programmatic support, with a focus on space systems acquisition, operations, and sustainment. This role will provide expert guidance and oversight for existing space systems programs and assist in the initiation of new contract actions. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in highly secure environments, ACAT I/II level programs, and a solid understanding of space systems engineering requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Systems Engineering and Programmatic Support: Provide advisory services across space, ground, acquisitions, operations, and sustainment areas.
• Program Oversight and Contract Management: Assist in managing and overseeing existing space systems programs and support the initiation of new contractual actions.
• Space Systems Engineering Support: Conduct systems analysis, reporting, and provide expertise in space system acquisition, including day-to-day program execution.
• Systems Integration and Configuration Management: Support the integration of space systems, manage configuration, and control interfaces, and provide recommendations on technical issues across interface boundaries.
• Acquisition Document Development: Support the preparation and review of acquisition documents, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Statements of Work (SOW), and Statements of Objectives (SOO).
• Enhanced Security Measures: Identify space systems information assurance boundaries, define and approve security controls in alignment with Intelligence Community Directive 503 and Risk Management Framework requirements.
• Rapid Prototyping and Capability Development: Utilize rapid prototyping experience to develop integrated air, space, and cyberspace capabilities.

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant DoD work experience, with at least 4 years in an SAP and/or SCI environment. Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition space programs is required.
• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Physics, or Engineering (BA/BS/BE) with 15 years of experience.
  • Desired: Master’s degree in Science, Physics, or Engineering (MA/MS/ME) with a minimum of 10 years of direct experience.
• Additional Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Headquarters Air Force (HAF) and/or Major Command (MAJCOM) staff.
  • Experience analyzing, drafting, and reviewing space acquisition documents for programs requiring enhanced security.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Word, is essential.
• Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance required.
