Riptide Technology is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support Research and Development (R&D) work at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington DC.

This Senior Systems Engineer will focus the efforts of multi-faceted teams as they strive to improve Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) for US Naval Missions.
Responsibilities
The Systems Engineer will lead the development and documentation of systems architecture concepts, plans, implementations, and operational analyses for current and planned programs/projects in direct support of space and ground support systems research and development efforts.
The Systems Engineer will conduct analyses of technical data packages for completeness and compliance in accordance with established program technical review readiness criteria. These data packages may include technical reports, schedules, analysis reports, design specifications, briefings, design review data packages, drawing packages, design review minutes and action item responses, test plans and procedures, and test reports.
The Systems Engineer will analyze test and evaluation planning efforts and provide recommendations for conducting test and evaluation of systems. The Systems Engineer will also conduct technical reviews and audits for assigned systems as well as develop and maintain concept plans, white papers, and Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documentation.
Qualifications
Experience working on a team with other Systems Engineers analyzing user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
Experience analyzing system requirements and leading design and development activities; guiding users in formulating requirements; advising alternative approaches and conducting feasibility studies.
Experience providing technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology, incorporating new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
Experience developing system architecture and system design documentation supporting complex Multi-INT processing, and guiding system development and implementation planning through preparation or assessment of systems engineering management, integration, and test plans.
Demonstrated ability to develop complete sets of architectural views enterprises in accordance with the common architecture frameworks (e.g. DoDAF and FEAF).
Experience in leveraging strong business analysis skills and experience to develop business visions and strategies and perform functional decomposition, requirements capture, and process modeling.
Ability to develop/influence ‘system of systems’ architecture development, partitioning functionality across applications and components.
Ability to prepare detailed presentations/briefings to clearly explain the benefits of an architectural approach to clients and stakeholders including the coordinating of the activities of others (internal staff, client staff, subcontractors, associates, and staff from collaborating and/or competing suppliers) and managing stakeholder expectations and requirements.
Demonstrate ability to assess requirements and present systems engineering based recommendations that are in line with the strategic vision for the enterprise and industry best practices.
Ability to advise on and participate in established governance processes to ensure that enterprise architectures meet requirements.
Education and Experience
Master's degree from an Accredited University and 7 years experience; OR
Bachelor's degree from an Accredited University and 12 years experience;
Security Requirements
This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active DoD TS/SCI clearance. The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.
