Heyday Health is hiring a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our start-up team! We're building a platform to help seniors access world-class primary care through home and virtual visits, and we’re passionate about providing exceptional patient experiences and care.
We are a virtual-first primary care practice dedicated to improving the primary care experience for seniors as well as our providers. We founded Heyday Health because we saw the health system leaving our elderly loved ones behind and were driven to create a better solution. Our practice is being built from the ground up with the mission of transforming how, where, and when we deliver care to achieve exceptional outcomes.
About the role:
As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll bring passion for using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) to architect and build robust backend systems. This role is pivotal in developing infrastructure that supports our telehealth services and patient care coordination platform. You will focus on deploying secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure using IaC principles, primarily working with AWS services like ECS, Lambda, and RDS.
What makes you uniquely suited to this role?
You understand the pivotal role that rapidly deploying and securing modern technology infrastructure plays in empowering clinicians and care teams with tools that make a difference in the lives of thousands of seniors. By creating more efficient, responsive, and personalized care solutions, you help us directly impact patient outcomes and satisfaction. Our team’s ability to nimbly deploy and iterate on technology solutions and integrations supports the patient management systems that help track and improve patient outcomes. These systems are vital for delivering on the promise of value-based care, where improving health outcomes leads to better financial models for care provision under Medicare Advantage. You can balance the needs of technical perfection and being scrappy to give the organization what it needs when it needs it.
The role will include the following responsibilities, but not be limited to:
- Support Software Development Lifecycle: Own and improve our CI/CD pipelines and git workflows, and support our overall team velocity while improving quality.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain infrastructure using AWS CDK; ensure all cloud resources are version-controlled and reproducible.
- Application Infrastructure: Build and scale applications using AWS ECS for container management, Lambda for serverless functions, and RDS for database services.
- System Monitoring: Implement monitoring solutions to track application health, performance, and security. Utilize tools like CloudWatch to monitor the status and efficiency of all systems.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure infrastructure complies with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA. Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive patient data.
- Operational Excellence: Automate deployment processes, enhance system scalability, and maintain uptime to support continuous delivery and high availability.
- Collaboration and Innovation: Work closely with a small, agile team of engineers to deploy high-impact solutions that support patient care and clinician experience. Embrace new technologies and approaches to solve challenges in healthcare IT.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, including significant experience with AWS and IaC using tools like AWS CDK.
