As a Principal Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Data Center Networking group, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of software, applications, and technical systems and processes in infrastructure engineering, along with advanced expertise in other disciplines. You will contribute to the development of technical methods in a specialized field or area, aligning with product development methodologies. Your role involves applying in-depth expertise and problem-solving methodologies to plan, accomplish, and review tasks across multiple large-scope projects in various technical areas.
Manages multiple technical areas and collaborates on technology projects across different technical domains
Promotes and champions the development of technological methods, techniques, and various analytical approaches across the infrastructure engineering domain
Ensures technical compliance, risk, and security, is adopted and that service level agreements and solution scalability needs are met
Engages multiple stakeholders and complex projects consisting of large teams
Applies cross-functional technical expertise, leadership, and comprehensive business knowledge to a broad range of infrastructure engineering areas by communicating, managing, and implementing strategic and operational plans
Develops and executes the function’s objectives with accountability for outcomes
Be responsible for staffing, budget and relevant profit and loss
Mentors and coaches junior engineers and technologists

Drive adoption of infrastructure automation, SDN, and network-as-code practices to improve agility and reduce manual risk.
Oversee lifecycle management, including hardware/software upgrades, end-of-life tracking, and technology refresh programs.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal Training or certification in Data Center Networking and 10+ years applied experience in data center network engineering and operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Deep technical expertise in data center networking technologies: Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Nexus, ACI, BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, etc.
Strong experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Python, CI/CD pipelines) for network infrastructure.
Solid understanding of risk management, compliance standards (e.g., SOX, FFIEC, MAS), and audit processes.
Demonstrated success in leading stability and resiliency programs including change management, incident response, and RCA.
Experience managing and developing large cross-functional teams within the infrastructure engineering discipline
Demonstrated prior experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale
Experience leading complex projects supporting infrastructure engineering design, scaling, resilience, and system performance assessments
Extensive experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
Experience managing and developing budgets
