SUMMARY
NOC Engineers are primarily responsible for configuring and maintaining remote
monitoring and management platforms. The NOC Engineer designs, implements, and supports client networks and provides escalation assistance to customers and internal resources as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- 4+ years of Windows System Administration, including PowerShell scripting and GPO deployment.
- Scripting or development experience involving workload automation.
- Preferred experience with the configuration and maintenance of an RMM tool such as N-Central, Kaseya VSA, Continuum, or similar.
- Experience with professional services automation tools or ticketing systems like Autotask, ConnectWise, or similar.
- Experience with the configuration, installation, and maintenance of Layer 2/3 network switches, routers, wireless access points & controllers, and firewalls.
- Proficiency with patch management on servers, workstations, and third-party products.
- Experience with all aspects of IP network design and architecture.
- Project management and planning experience.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to multitask and deliver professional services independently as well as with a team.
- Technical writing and documentation skills.
- A do-whatever-it-takes attitude.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of all aspects of the RMM platform.
- After initial setup, continuous improvement and automation of system maintenance activities.
- Manage technical aspects of Managed Services onboarding.
- Ensure all client technical assets are monitored and alerts are routed to the correct resource(s).
- Ensure all client backup activities are monitored and alerts are routed to the correct resource(s).
- Ensure monitoring and alerting policies are updated or configured appropriately at the request of the leadership team or the client.
- Ensure patching and alerting reports are configured and routed to the correct resource(s).
- Implement creative solutions to reduce service requests, such as scripting or automation.
- Help create and maintain technical documentation of customer networks and systems.
- Establish daily priorities and respond to customer requests.
- Interact effectively with customers, peers, and leadership.
- Represent the organization professionally.
- Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization and customer information assets.
- Properly document all activities with customers and on systems for billing and reference.
- Maintain 75% or greater utilization.

- Ensure all customer environments are proactively monitored for service-affecting outages, disruptions, or vulnerabilities 24/7.
- Ensure all patch exceptions or failures in customer environments are resolved immediately.
- Work cooperatively with other delivery areas to eliminate reactive service issues by resolving issues at the root cause.
- Continuously improve monitoring systems through automation and self-healing routines to maximize customer uptime.

- Maintain the current patch and AV status for all customers according to documented maintenance windows.

- Remain current on RMM products and capabilities to improve efficiency and responsiveness to changing technology and trends.
- Complete technical onboarding tasks for new Managed Services clients effectively and within allotted timeframes.
