POSITION SUMMARY

Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise network and security infrastructure across both cloud and on-premises environments. This position requires hands-on expertise with technologies such as Cisco Nexus (NDFC), Palo Alto firewalls, NetScaler load balancers, and Microsoft Azure networking. The engineer will utilize monitoring and service management platforms like LogicMonitor and ServiceNow to ensure optimal performance and issue resolution. The ideal candidate be available to work on-site in the office four days per week. This role is best suited for a proactive, technically skilled professional who thrives in dynamic environments and is committed to delivering secure, reliable, and scalable network solutions. 

DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure, scalable network infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments. 
  • Configure and support Cisco Nexus (NDFC), Palo Alto firewalls, NetScaler load balancers, and Azure networking components. 
  • Monitor network performance and health using LogicMonitor and ServiceNow, ensuring timely issue resolution. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise connectivity and security requirements. 
  • Maintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN environments, ensuring high availability and optimal throughput. 
  • Apply corporate standards and security policies to network architecture and operations. 
  • Participate in network capacity planning, forecasting, and performance tuning. 
  • Document network configurations, changes, and incident resolutions for compliance and future reference. 
  • Provide Tier 3 technical support for escalated network issues. 
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance network reliability and security. 
  • Support structured cabling and physical network layer tasks when required. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, related field. 
  • Preferred certification in networking technologies, CCNA. 
  • 2-4 years’ experience with the following: 
  • Cisco Nexus NDFC. 
  • Firewall/Security operations (Palo Alto, Netscaler). 
  • Network traffic analysis tools. 
  • Enterprise LAN/WAN design and development. 

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • General knowledge of services, data communication, and security requirements of an enterprise network. 
  • General knowledge of VoIP implementation and support. 
  • General knowledge of network design, implementation, traffic shaping, and QoS. 
  • Ability to manage IT projects from conceptualization to support model. 
  • Good organizational, technical, analytical and interpersonal skills. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Good decision-making skills. 
  • General knowledge of structured cabling systems. 
  • Ability to forecast utilization and engineering trends and make recommendations to current environment. 
  • Understanding of accounting chargeback methods for WAN provider services. 
  • Understanding of WAN provider contract terms, conditions, and rates. 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Working on-site at assigned office location.
  • Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.
  • Flexibility to work occasionally adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand.
  • Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations.
  • Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.
  • Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.
  • Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
