About the job:ย 

We are seeking looking for a Junior DevOps/Platform Engineer to join our team! ย and you will be working with our highly skilled development teams and architects to deliver the best end user experience. You will collaborate closely with the R&D teams across Storyteq, including Developers, fellow DevOps Engineers, Product Owners, and more to deliver the future of our platform.

Your role will revolve around automating our infrastructure, maturing our CI/CD processes and implementing broad GitOps principles that help our teams and products stay in the best possible shape.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about automating infrastructure, ensuring robust CI/CD pipelines, and implementing GitOps principles. You will work with cutting-edge technologies, including ArgoCD, Config Connector, Terraform, Python, and GitLab, to drive the continuous improvement of our development and deployment workflows. The team works on a combination of core application components, infrastructure, deployment flows and tooling. Your role will revolve around all the different elements that will bring our product to new heights. This includes implementing new features, scaling existing capabilities, and making our product more amazing every day. The team works with strong goals and a good balance of product & engineering roadmap features. That way we make sure we always keep our technology and product on track!

Key Responsibilities:

  • ย Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Config Connector.
  • Implement and manage GitOps workflows with ArgoCD, and develop CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for efficient application deployments and configuration management.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and processes using Python and other scripting languages.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to establish best practices, monitor system performance, and contribute to incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in DevOps and cloud-native architecture.

Qualifications:

  • ย Strong communication skills in English.
  • Formal Education or Previous experience in a role that gave you some hands-on exposure experience towith cloud infrastructure and or software development practices
  • A positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow
  • A logical analytical thinker with good problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a team environmentYou're pro-active, result-driven, and excited to work in a fast-growing tech scale-up
  • You're a team player and like to work together to reach our goals

Nice to Have:

  • ย Experience with observability tools and implementing security best practices for infrastructure and applications.
  • Familiarity with internal developer platforms, streamlined application delivery, and cloud platforms such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
  • Proficiency in Git-based source control (GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket) and creating/maintaining CI pipelines.
  • Experience with various database technologies, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL, MongoDB, and BigQuery.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and frameworks (JavaScript, Node.js, Golang, Java, Angular, C#.NET) and certifications in GCP, Kubernetes, or Terraform
