Role Overview<\/b>

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining secure, reliable, and well -documented server and infrastructure environments across MSP client tenants. This role focuses on Windows Server administration<\/b>, RMM configuration (NinjaOne)<\/b>, Acronis & Axcient backup/DR strategies<\/b>, patching, and hybrid infrastructure optimization. The Infrastructure Engineer ensures that server environments meet security, performance, and compliance standards<\/b> consistently.

Key Responsibilities<\/b>
<\/p>
RMM, Monitoring & Automation<\/b>
<\/p>- Configure, tune, and manage NinjaOne monitoring policies<\/b> for servers, virtualization hosts, and critical infrastructure services.
<\/li>- Implement proactive alerting, service health checks, and event log monitoring with escalation workflows.
<\/li> - Build PowerShell scripts and NinjaOne workflows<\/b> for automated remediation, scheduled tasks, and routine maintenance.
<\/li>- Manage server grouping, tagging, and baseline policy assignment in RMM for structured management.
<\/li><\/ul>Server Administration & Security<\/b>
<\/p>- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2016–2022)<\/b> — including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, Certificate Services, and Print Services.
<\/li>- Manage Hyper -V virtualization<\/b>: virtual machine provisioning, snapshots, replication, and failover clustering where applicable.
<\/li>- Apply server hardening baselines<\/b> (Defender for Servers, ASR rules, local policies) in coordination with the Security team.
<\/li>- Configure Acronis Cyber Protect<\/b> for server -level patching and anti -malware where appropriate.
<\/li><\/ul>Backup & Disaster Recovery (Acronis + Axcient)<\/b>
<\/p>- Deploy and manage Acronis Cyber Protect and Axcient<\/b> for server, endpoint, and SaaS (M365) backups across client environments.
<\/li>- Define and apply backup retention policies, encryption standards<\/b>, and job schedules aligned with compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR).
<\/li>- Perform regular restore testing<\/b>, document outcomes, and ensure RTO/RPO compliance<\/b> as per client agreements.
<\/li>- Troubleshoot backup failures, coordinate with vendors if needed, and proactively address performance issues.
<\/li> - Support BMR (Bare Metal Restore)<\/b>, VM recovery, and failover scenarios during incidents or DR tests.
<\/li><\/ul>Infrastructure Optimization & Hybrid Cloud<\/b>
<\/p>- Plan and execute infrastructure migrations<\/b>, including server upgrades, domain consolidations, and virtualization moves.
<\/li>- Evaluate and implement hybrid cloud integrations<\/b> (Azure AD Connect, Azure Files, cloud DR storage, hybrid DNS).
<\/li>- Assist in capacity planning for storage, compute, and network resources.
<\/li> - Collaborate with Security and Endpoint teams to enforce Zero Trust<\/b>, network segmentation, and infrastructure -level controls.
<\/li><\/ul>Documentation & Compliance<\/b>
<\/p>- Maintain detailed documentation<\/b> for server configurations, backup policies, DR runbooks, and infrastructure diagrams in centralized KB (Hudu/Confluence).
<\/li>- Support compliance evidence collection for HIPAA, SOC 2, and GDPR audits.
<\/li> - Document DR tests, patch compliance, and infrastructure changes systematically for internal QA and client QBRs.

Requirements<\/h3>Skills & Experience<\/b>
<\/p>- 5–8 years in infrastructure engineering in MSP or enterprise environments.
<\/li> - Deep expertise in Windows Server administration<\/b> (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO) and Hyper -V<\/b> virtualization.
<\/li>- Proven track record with Acronis Cyber Protect<\/b> and Axcient<\/b> backup deployments, policy management, and restore/DR testing<\/b>.
<\/li>- Strong experience configuring NinjaOne monitoring, alerting, and automated workflows<\/b> for server infrastructure.
<\/li>- Experience with Defender for Servers<\/b>, vulnerability management, and basic server hardening practices.
<\/li>- Familiarity with hybrid cloud integrations<\/b>, Azure AD Connect, and file sync solutions.
<\/li>- Solid PowerShell scripting skills for automation and operational efficiency.
<\/li> - Strong documentation discipline, change control, and structured troubleshooting approach.
<\/li> - Understanding of compliance -aligned backup/DR practices<\/b> (HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR).
