Job Description:
Capgemini America, Inc. has multiple openings for the position of Infrastructure Engineer 1 based out of its Chicago, IL U.S. headquarters. The employee may also work at various unanticipated locations. S/he will perform the following duties\: analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing computer infrastructure systems; apply subject matter knowledge to understand specific system needs or requirements; implement Ad-hoc project work requests; coordinate on-call cover and out of hours support; research, develop and deliver effective solutions to support the infrastructure systems for IT applications using current and emerging technologies; serve as part of a team of technical specialists in service delivery and transitional projects; monitor servers to address issues and ensure contracted services are met; coordinate activities related to the infrastructure (network, telecommunications, basic software, hardware, servers) and database, involving the definition, development and maintenance of procedures; and administer the study and implementation of new processes and techniques for the area.
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or
its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information
Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering (any), or
closely related field plus at least 1 year of experience in the job offered, as
Tester, Test Analyst, Quality Assurance Analyst, Software Engineer, Systems
Analyst, or related IT position. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, the employer
deems that the suitable combination of education, training or experience
acceptable is 3 years of study towards U.S. bachelor's degree in Computer
Science, Computer Applications, Information Systems, Information Technology,
Business Administration, Engineering (any), or closely related field plus 3
years of IT experience. The applicant
must also have\: any period of experience working with all aspects of Mainframe,
Oracle, ETL, and Web technologies; any period of experience installing and
configuring Operating systems, applications, and Middleware platforms, such as
IBM WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, JBOSS, IIS, or Docker containers; any
period of experience working with IBM Mainframe, z/OS, VSAM, DB2, TSO/ISPF,
PL/SQL, SQL, UNIX/Linux systems, VMware, Citrix, ITIL, and Service Now; and any
period of experience utilizing Remedy, DevOps and cloud platforms, Python, Unix
Shell Script, Autosys, JavaScript, and Agile Methodologies.
