The Tribe DevEx & System Engineering is part of Engineering & Reliability, focusing on driving end-to-end system optimisation, increasing engineering productivity, and enhancing developer experience. We build on a unified engineering system that serves as a Swiss Army knife for thousands of ING engineers.
 

The team

You will join the Continuous Integration and Delivery IT Area, which delivers tooling to automate CICD processes across ING. Our platform is built on Azure DevOps and delivered as a service.

We are a multinational team of 60+ engineers across the Philippines, India, Romania, and the Netherlands. Your specific team will be the Evidence Platform Team.

The Evidence Platform simplifies and improves compliance processes by capturing every event in Azure DevOps and offering full traceability. This has transformed how we manage risk and audit activities.

We leverage technologies such as:

• Neo4j for graph-based traceability
• AKS for scalability
• Spring Boot for microservices
• A wide range of Azure services including Function Apps, LAW, SAJ, Event Hubs, and Storage Accounts
   

The platform automates Change Management Controls, with evidence uploaded daily to ITRMP for selected CHMs, significantly accelerating compliance workflows.
 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable microservices using Java 21 and Spring Boot
• Capture, manage, and process development events in Azure DevOps for compliance tracking
• Develop and optimize graph queries in Neo4j for accurate traceability
• Automate platform processes using Azure Functions, YAML pipelines, Terraform, and Stream Analytics
• Integrate with systems like ServiceNow and ING’s public cloud offering
• Enhance system observability, monitoring, and alerting
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and demo sessions
• Stay current with tools and practices to improve platform performance and developer experience

Your profile

• Academic degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• AZ-204 / AZ-400 certification or a strong mindset toward achieving it
• 5+ years of experience in Java and Python software engineering
• Proven experience with CI/CD, preferably using Azure DevOps
• Hands-on experience deploying software on Azure
• Preferably experienced with:
  • Docker, Go, Kubernetes/OpenShift
  • Open Source collaboration
• Solid understanding of Software Architecture
• Excellent team player in an international environment
• Quality-focused, service-oriented, and eager to learn
• Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written
