This Healthcare Assistant Facilities Managers will engage with frontline staff from the Buildings and Grounds Department to ensure PMs and Work Orders are being completed in accordance with TJC standards and NFPA Codes.


In support of Cook County Health System , the JLL Healthcare Assistant Facilities Managers are responsible for maintaining a safe, attractive physical environment to provide quality patient care and service to all customers.

Responsibilities

  • Uses discretion and independent judgment with support from the Facilities Director, in organizing and directing facilities teams which includes but is not limited to regulatory compliance and management, quality assurance activities and programs, and personnel management and development.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all building systems and equipment are installed and maintained in accordance with Joint Commission (EC/LS) standards and all other applicable State/Federal/Local regulatory requirements.
  • Partners internally/externally to ensure the use of best practices.
  • Ensures staff training in approved practices and procedures related to proper facility maintenance techniques.
  • Works/partners with the Sourcing / Contracts Manager to ensure all vendor contracts are properly implemented and executed consistent with the identified scope of work and requirements of the MSA in accordance with Cook County policies.
  • Creates a safe work environment for staff by ensuring adherence to all safety/infection control policies and procedures/practices to include but not limited to the wearing of appropriate protective clothing and gear and the proper handling of contaminated equipment and tools.
  • Complies with all JLL policies and procedures, including but not limited to ethics and business practice.
  • ay attend or support Hospital sponsored committee meetings related to Buildings and Grounds Department functions.
  • Supports compliance with applicable standards, as directed by JLL management, specifically in the areas of Joint Commission Environment of Care/Life Safety, CMS, NFPA and OHSA.
  • May be required to work or be available for support on weekends, after hours and holidays as needed to support the hospital during emergency events.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of Facilities Management experience
  • 3+ years of leadership/ management experience in a hospital environment
  • Experience working with Union/CBA managed staff
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience leading/managing a complex site
  • Management experience as a third-party service provider
  • Strong verbal and written (report) communications skills; superior presentation skills
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving and crisis management skills
  • Understanding of building Management Control Systems, Life Safety Systems, CMMS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power Point, Visio and Microsoft Outlook software

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Joint Commission/CMS survey experience at the hospital level
  • Operational knowledge related to maintenance and operations of critical systems such as emergency/stand-by generators, automatic transfer switches, un-interruptible power supply (UPS) systems, power distribution systems/medical gas

Estimated total compensation for this position:

70,000.00 – 85,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
