ABOUT THE POSITION

The Network Administrator role is ideal for professionals ready to implement, monitor, and secure critical systems in a dynamic environment. From installing routers and switches to fine-tuning network performance and supporting system continuity, your work will help ensure seamless operations across the Court’s technology landscape. Key responsibilities: 

  • Network Implementation & Support – Maintain and support complex LAN/WAN infrastructure, ensuring optimal uptime, connectivity, and performance.
  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting – Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 networking support, diagnose and resolve service interruptions, and escalate as needed.
  • Hardware Installation & Configuration – Install and configure routers, switches, access points, UPS systems, and related infrastructure to align with project standards.
  • Network Performance Monitoring – Utilize tools such as SolarWinds and ThousandEyes to assess performance, detect bottlenecks, and optimize efficiency.
  • Security & System Integrity – Follow procedures to maintain network security posture, ensure data integrity, and support incident response protocols.
  • Documentation & Policy Adherence – Maintain accurate network records, diagrams, and inventories while ensuring compliance with change control and SLA policies.
  • Team Collaboration & Project Work – Support assigned networking projects by working closely with internal stakeholders and technical staff.
  • End-User Support & Connectivity – Assist users with VPN access, wireless connectivity, and general networking-related technical support.
  • Technology Research & Maintenance – Evaluate new tools and platforms and assist in keeping firmware, drivers, and software up to date.
  • After-Hours Support & Business Continuity – Participate in scheduled after-hours work to minimize disruptions and support essential operations.

  
TELEWORK OPPORTUNITIES

This position may be eligible for full or partial telework following an initial training period and contingent upon the needs of the Court. 


SELECTION REQUIREMENTS

To qualify, you must meet one of the following options at the time of application:


  • OPTION I: Three (3) years of professional experience installing, configuring, and maintaining switches, routers, servers, UPS systems, and access points.
  • OPTION II: Associate’s degree or higher* in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, network engineering, or closely related coursework -AND- one (1) year of professional experience installing, configuring, and maintaining switches, routers, servers, UPS systems, and access points.
  • OPTION III: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE certification* -AND- one (1) year of professional experience installing, configuring, and maintaining switches, routers, servers, UPS systems, and access points.

Note: Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
  
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess the following desirable qualifications:


  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE.
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining switches, routers, servers, UPS systems, and access points, ensuring optimal network performance.
  • Familiarity with SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, digital signage systems, and other monitoring tools to ensure network stability and optimize performance. 
  • Adaptability to a variety of court-related projects and operational needs.
  • Proactivity in researching and adopting new technologies to improve support and operations.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in emerging technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

EVALUATION: Qualifying evaluation of education, training and experience based upon submitted application and supplemental questionnaire. 


ASSESSMENT: Applicants who best meet job-related qualifications will be invited to participate in an online assessment measuring knowledge of the setup, configuration, and maintenance of a local area network


ELIGIBILITY: Applicants who best meet job-related qualifications will be placed on an eligible list which will remain active for approximately six (6) months and may be invited to participate in a selection interview. Other vacancies may be filled using this list.
